Akwaba lodge is located at the middle of Isla Solarte about a 10 minute boat ride ($10/person) from Bocas del Toro. It is on a hill overlooking the water and Isla Bastimentos Breakfast is included in your stay. Lunch dinner and beverages are available at a very reasonable price. The lodge is an eco style lodge surrounded by jungle. Though there are no hiking trails through the jungle you are serenaded by the sounds of birds. Kayaks, SUP and snorkeling equipment is available for your use. Your host and their children are wonderful and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant and wonderful experience. Things to know, the lodge is off the grid with good WiFi and does not have AC, but we were comfortable with our open windows and ceiling fan. The lodge accepts credit cards, but tours and water taxis are cash only so bring US dollars. Side trips to Red Frog Beach and Green Acres Chocolate are a must. Pack insect repellent and anti-itch cream.

Pierre and Manon who are running this property with a lot of LOVE are incredible people worthy of admiration! They bought a house with a good amount of land around it and have constructed several cabins, a yoga deck, a restaurant and a boat house over the last few years. Ataraxia has its own pier, so boatmen will easily take you there from Isla Colon. At the back of the property, there is a nature reserve, a jungle with so many treasures! We were able to spot the red frogs, caimans, a racoon, yellowtail birds, giant turquoise butterflies, turtles, giant ants, we rented a free kayak and paddled through the mangroves nearby, and we walked on several occasions to Old Bank, the main village on Isla Bastimentos, and once to Wizzard Beach. Manon also booked us a trip to Zapatilla (including sloth, dolphin and starfish spotting and snorkeling) and Pierre arranged our transportation to the airport. Several ideas for activities in the area conveniently presented in a booklet in the room (Zapatilla trip, Wizzard Beach hike, Red Frog & Polo Beach, bio-luminescence tour, etc.). Free kayaks and snorkeling gear available. If you are into botany and medicinal plants, you will have a lot to talk about with Pierre who planted so many of them around the property. Running a guesthouse in the middle of the jungle is a hard task, yet the couple somehow manage it and always keep smiling and interacting with guests at all times. Thank you very much, we will never forget our stay with you! You are a true inspiration! Be aware that: there is no hot water or AC and you cannot use a hairdrier, as the place runs on solar energy. There is wifi. Rooms are cleaned daily and are very spacious. Cold drinks available in the common fridge and option to have dinner. Tasty and creative breakfast included.

Carmen's place si trova a Bastimentos e prevede la vista sul giardino, un giardino, una sala comune, una terrazza, un ristorante e un bar. Il WiFi gratis è in dotazione in tutta la struttura. Carmen's place è proprio casa di Carmen: lei ti accoglie, ti coccola, ti tratta come fossi a casa tua... Semplicemente ti fa stare bene! Noi abbiamo alloggiato per 3 notti nella cabina sul retro, nella giungla, ben attrezzata, ospitale, arricchita anche da un tocco speciale in occasione della nostra luna di miele! Colazione sul molo, tutte le info e le organizzazioni per visitare la meravigliosa Bastimentos, l'allegria e l'energia di Carmen che fanno sempre bene al cuore. Per un prezzo assolutamente ragionevole si può anche cenare, il ché è ottimo considerando anche le difficoltà di spostamento tra le varie isole e i vari moli, e poi Carmen è anche un' ottima cuoca! Che dire... Super raccomandato!!

Pure Roots si trova a Bastimentos, a 800 metri da Playa de Carenero Noreste e 2,3 km da Playa de Carenero. Prevede la vista sul mare e il WiFi gratuito. We had a wonderful time at this place. You are surrounded by jungle. The huts are very cozy and they have everything you need. Jen is the host of this accommodation and she lovingly takes care of her guests. There is a delicious breakfast and she helps you organize any activities you want to do. We will remember this accommodation for a long time.

Lodge incantevole immerso nella natura gestito dagli impeccabili Brian e Daniel. Sempre disponibili per ogni evenienza. Daniel cucina meravigliosamente bene! Consiglio assolutamente di cenare nel resort. Un grazie particolare a entrambi per tutto il supporto in loco! Il lodge gode di viste panoramiche incredibili e le camere sono perfette! Assolutamente consigliato!

Enjoy the captivating environment of our eco-resort, which offers a harmonious blend of comfort, services and memorable experiences. We are committed to preserving the environment and biodiversity. We loved the location in the bay and our view and access from terrace directly to the ocean. Water was calm, clean, warm and we swam and snorkeled every day. The staff was very friendly, bungalow spacious and clean with both inside and outside shower and two floor windows to watch the colorful fishes swim below our bungalow. Reasonable restaurant prices (15-20 USD for main course, 2-8 USD for drink), food very tasty (especially the grilled tuna :)). Water taxi costs 5 USD to the Bocas town. We made a great choice to book this hotel.

Luis and his family were so hospitable, the food he cooked us was delicious! The place itself is so tranquil looking over the water. We loved staying here and wish we could’ve stayed longer, it was very chilled and simplistic island life.
