The location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

Located in Mulu, AA Homestay provides accommodation with seating area. The homestay features family rooms. At the homestay, every unit is fitted with a desk. Very friendly family, walking distance from the airport and near to mulu national park - i went back to nap before walking back for the second part of the day activities, drinking bottles are available for purchase, breakfast, lunch (on request) and dinner are available. Hot water is available too. Their fried rice is just amazing!! No aircon, but a working fan. It does get cooling at night (personally for me), no TV, limited internet connection, no water heater (not complaining as a cooling shower is great after a hot day in the park). Bring your books, download movies if you need, or simply chit chat with others if they're around! Do get comfortable with the geckos though!

Located in Mulu in the Sarawak region with Gunung Mulu National Park nearby, Helena Homestay provides accommodation with free private parking. The homestay features family rooms. This review is based on the situations in a remote place like Mulu. The stay was good. It's about 1-1.5 km from Mulu national park and airport, so it's in walkable location. The host Helena and Shania was supportive. The room had 3 single beds. Initially I thought it would be a dormitory type of stay. But they have multiple rooms. It is a budget homestay. They prepare dinner and lunch is you ask for. Prices are at par with Mulu park restaurant.

The food was delicious. Rooms are spacious. Fan ceiling. Beds were comfortable. A 25 minute walk to the Mulu National Park or if a 5 minute ride. They are expanding so expect some construction during the day. Also this is not a luxury stay, but a modest homestay.

Nestled amongst the natural and lush greenery of the rainforests near the border between Malaysia and Brunei, Mulu Marriott Resort is located on Melinau Paku River in Miri. A perfect 10. It´s incredible to find such a place in the middle of a untouched jungle. Everything is spacioous and ample - the layout of the hotel itself, the rooms, the restaurant. The buildings were constructed and designed with taste and style, the restaurant offered wonderful food, the staff was literally reading our minds, the shuttle transfers to the airport and to the national park were flexible and quick. Looking back, we could have stayed there much longer.
