Nicely decorated and clean place, close to the airport (we walked from there). A lot of amneties and quite a few things for breakfast (home-made scones, jam, butter, milk, cereals). The communication with the host was very efficient and we had a lot of privacy. Everything was fine, highly recommended!

We very much enjoyed are stay in are accommodation near Shannon Airport, we wasn't expecting it to be so lovely at Carrygerry Country House Hotel. It only took 12 minutes to drive to it from the airport and nicely welcomed at the door by Gillian and shown to are room. Shannon airport, easy to park, easy to get too by car.

We flew in to Shannon from London & used it as jumping...
We flew in to Shannon from London & used it as jumping off point to other areas in & south of Shannon. Convenient location. People we encountered were very friendly there, & really everywhere we went over our 4 days on the island.

Airport is so efficient and staff are professional .Security is done so efficiently, a really painless experience and so much better that other airports. The local road system is a joy and well signposted. Our stay at Oakwood hotel was just lovely and staff were really great, always available and ultra helpful. The hotel was peaceful, comfortable and food of excellent quality.

Shannon airport is a hidden gem of a flying experience.
Shannon airport is a hidden gem of a flying experience. I highly recommend you use Shannon as your airport, especially for a holiday on Ireland's west coast. If you don't want to drive, it is well connected via bus to Galway or to Limerick, which has connections to everywhere else in Ireland via bus and train. If you do want to drive, you probably don't want to stay right in Shannon, but there is something for everyone nearby.

the things that were wrong were fixed but there is still some confusion about the payment. I think we will get this right soon. perhaps delete the previous review and perhaps I just won't put one up which I think is better.

The room was freezing (as we're others) , the staff unhelpful and an unapologetic manager. Couldn't manage to get my rewards without multiple visits to reception (at least two other guests gave up) and got slapped by a 25euro charge for checking in an hour early .

From US$162 per nightThis was my last night in Ireland on route to Shannon Airport. It is a classic old home, full of antique furniture and artifacts. The bar area is really cool, old school. Pastoral views out the window of a spacious room. Rainy day, but beautiful grounds. It is super comfortable to hang out in the communal spaces on the ground floor. Although the restaurant is not open for lunch on Monday, the manager organized a sandwich and tea. This is boutique, family property.

Very good value and extremely close to the airport. We own the Fastnet Hotel in Schull in West Cork (Instagram thefastnet1) and we are very honoured to having been ranked number one in Ireland by the Irish Examiners Travel editor’s choice: Tom Breathnach's top 10 stays of 2023.
