After a long motorbike ride, I arrived in Maumere and was warmly welcomed by Herman. The homestay is beautiful and peaceful, with a relaxing patio and garden. Tea and coffee grown locally by Herman are available. My room was clean, comfortable, and had AC, big windows, and good Wi-Fi. The washroom was spotless and even had lovely plants. Helpful info about the area was provided, and communication was easy via WhatsApp. Herman kindly helped me exchange money and gave useful advice when my flight plans changed due to a volcano eruption. I enjoyed a peaceful sunset in the garden and slept very well. Though I stayed only one night, I felt truly cared for. Thank you, Herman and Susi, for the warm hospitality!

WiFi was working very good (they have few different ones). 2 swimming pools with view on the sea, and the breakfast was sensational. Hot water in the shower. An open wardrobe so you can easily store your stuff. We were there while they didn't have other guests so it was super nice.

We had a house all to ourselves + the garden. It was a beautiful Balinese styled house, with gorgeous wooden furniture. The bed was really comfortable. Unlike many other mosquite nets, this one made the bed feel more cozy rather than claustrophobic. Breakfast is also amazing and you can have coffee or tea at your discretion. It was really, really great and we would stay here anytime.

Coconut Garden Beach Resort has a fitness centre, garden, a private beach area and terrace in Maumere. Among the various facilities are a bar and a range of water sports facilities. The bungalow was very clean and with a lot of space. Coconut is a great location and beautiful surrounding. The food was good too.

It is one of the best hotel I've ever stayed in whole Indonesia! Room and all facilities are extremely clean! bathroom also literally spotless!! Really enjoyed breakfast with toast, egg selections, home made jam, fresh fruit juice, a plate of fresh fruits and really nice coffee from espresso!! having in beautiful garden full of flowers and great view was amazing!! Staffs are exceptionally friendly and kind! always ready to help with beautiful smile! And Joseph, manager of hotel, arranged everything I need from all transportations, Mt. Egon trekking tour, diviving trip, visa extension or so! Even provided medicine for me when I was a bit sick, and also bring me to Apotek for translation!! They are Not just staff of hotel but more of family! taking care of me and feeding me!! At first I booked 2nights but stayed here 8nights!:) I will definitely recommend this hotel everyone and will be back if I visit Maumere again!!

The Sleepy Lagoon Beach House is set in Hitokalak. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The house was in a great location right on the beach. The bed was comfortable and the small fan provided inside the bug net made it cool to sleep. Loved having a small kitchen with refrigerator to keep some snacks, beer and to be able to make tea. Hammock on the porch was the best! The bathroom was nice and I loved the outdoor shower. Fredh, the caretaker and point of contact, was great! He arranged for food to be brought over every night for dinner and was just a short walk up the beach if I needed anything. I loved being able to swim and snorkel right out in front of the house and got to see a bunch of starry night octopuses out hunting in the seagrass when night snorkeling! I did have a motorbike that I had rented in Ende and it made getting there very convenient.

Hidden gem in Maumere; the bungalows are facing the sea, food is great. Claudia, the host, is very helpful and friendly; she’ll take you diving/snorkeling instructor great spots. And you can enjoy amazing sunsets from the property. I definitely recommend spending as much time as you can at Happy dive retreat!

Set in Maumere, Cassabonelly features water sports facilities. Featuring room service, this property also has a restaurant and a terrace. The inn has family rooms. A bit outside of Maumere (about 20-25min by bike, 30 by car), so nice and quiet except directly on the road so there was traffic noise. The fan in the bedroom was nice for keeping airflow but just wish we had another blanket (we could have asked earlier but at night there were no staff around). The staff were super nice and helpful and moved us to a better room. Online only the deluxe double (room with 2 double beds) was available but there were rooms on the water with just 1 double bed so maybe WhatsApp them for availability as opposed to booking online. Not many people around so the staff close up around 6pm unless you’re eating dinner. Not much for snorkeling that we saw, but maybe if you swim out a bit. Right on the shore is mostly rocks. Beds: had a mosquito net if you are into that. A little too soft for us but great pillows and clean and comfortable. Bathrooms: Hot water! Like super hot. Our first true super hot shower in a week! Great water pressure and clean and nice. All around a great stay along our journey around Flores. Great sunset spot!! Beautiful!
