We were on the Iceland ring road trip. This was the best hotel experience I had on my trip. You could feel the human attitude and care in everything. and everything was just very pleasant. We didn't see much of the surroundings because there was a lot of fog and our stay was relatively short, but we experienced a magical atmosphere. Breakfast made from local products and warm, home-baked bread. This is a family business and you can really feel the family in this place.

Breakfast choice was very good. The view out on to the harbour was really fantastic, smell of salty water and seaweed, just like home. Beautiful dining area. I met the owner of the property, who was really nice to speak with. The staff were great too. The northern lights were just so beautiful.

From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Tehúsið Hostel & Guesthouse offre un giardino, una sala comune, una terrazza e un ristorante a Egilsstadir. Very large rooms. Easy check-in. Even if there was a pub next door, it didn't bother us. Parking directly in front of the room. The kitchen has a lot of dishes to use. We saw the aurora for the first time just in front of hostel!

Fjalladýrð Guesthouse presenta un giardino, una sala comune, un ristorante e un bar a Modrudalur. Very nice, warm, and well decorated log cabin style guest house full of amenities. Incredible views, really great restaurant, staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, remote but still near the ring road. Also two very cute dogs living on the property for company. Fantastic place to see northern lights.

L’hotel è bellissimo, interni molto tradizionale e la stanza, con vista sul lago, grande e accogliente. I letti comodissimi. Il personale gentile. La colazione ottima, variata e abbondante. Ci siamo trovati davvero bene e ci sentiamo di consigliare caldamente questo hotel.

What didn’t I like…the stay was wonderful at Hotel Studlagil. The staff person was friendly and even shared a lovely conversation with us in the evening. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area of Iceland!
