The hotel is located in a very representative part of the city, with the river boulevard, a large shopping gallery, a park, and a plaza with museums and a concert hall all nearby. Taiyuan does not have good public transport, so taxis are the only viable option from the railway stations. The room is spacious and offers the quality one would expect at this price and star level. The staff speak passable English – something that is, unfortunately, becoming increasingly rare in China these days.

Datong Yunzhong Traditional Courtyard is located in Datong Ancient Town, a 5-minute walk from Huayan temple and Nine Dragon Wall. It is a quadrangle courtyard Inn with traditional decoration. Our family did have good time while staying at the hotel. We will come back if we visit Datong again.

Well thought out design with well placed lighting and power receptacles. Also appreciated the fact the floors are laminate flooring. Much easier to clean and avoid the dirty carpet syndrome of other hotels

The Marriott is 5 mins walk from Taiyuan South Railway station- so very conveniently located. Splendid included breakfast and very the staff are keen to give directions to tourist sites with their limited English but huge hearts.
